Dr Andrea Carroll (Andie) M.A & Doctorate in Special Educational needs.

Dr. Andrea "Andie" Carroll, M.A., Doctorate in Special Educational Needs, is the founder of the Bali Dyslexia Foundation and President of the Rotary Club of Lovina, Bali. Originally from the UK, she is a passionate advocate for educational equity in Indonesia. As a teacher, assessor, curriculum designer, and literacy intervention specialist, she has dedicated her career to supporting children with dyslexia. Through the Bali Dyslexia Foundation, Andie works to remove social and educational barriers, ensuring that children with learning differences have equal access to quality education and opportunities.

Dr. P. Leith Krakouer .B.A.

Dr. P. Leith Krakouer, Grad.Dip.Ed., M.Ed., Ph.D., Post Doctoral Researcher (University of London), is a researcher and educator with over 30 years of experience in autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, speech and language development, behavior management, and dyslexia. He founded Indonesia’s first privately funded center specializing in education for children with developmental and learning differences. Based in Bali, he has spent the past eight years training teachers across remote communities in Bali, Java, and Kalimantan, empowering local educators with practical skills to support inclusive education.

Raden Roro Fitricia Soraya

Soraya, originally from Jakarta, has lived and worked in Bali for over 20 years. As a successful entrepreneur in residential property development across Kerobokan and Lovina, she is committed to creating positive change beyond business. A strong advocate for equal education for all abilities, Soraya dedicates her time and efforts to the Bali Dyslexia Foundation, helping provide greater opportunities and support for disadvantaged children with dyslexia in Bali.

I Ketut Trika Adi Ana, S.Pd., M.Pd.

Trika is an educator dedicated to providing affordable education for underserved communities in Bali. He manages several non-formal education and training institutions, as well as a Hindu senior high school. Holding both a bachelor's and master's degree in English Language Education from Ganesha University of Education, he is also an active researcher who has presented his work at international conferences across Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Hong Kong.

Jantien Brug Van De bos

Jantien is the Director of PT Isama Bali Indonesia and a humanitarian with a background in social therapy. She gained experience supporting young adults with addiction at the Kuno van Dijk Foundation in the Netherlands and has worked with children with special educational needs. A Rotarian since 2021, Jantien brings her passion for community service and her understanding of dyslexia to the Bali Dyslexia Foundation, where she proudly serves as an ambassador.

Mark Stoddart

Mark Stoddart – Co-Founder of NBSA & Advocate for Neurodivergent Learners
Originally from Ayrshire, Scotland, Mark Stoddart is a celebrated sculptor and designer, best known for his striking bronze furniture inspired by the majesty of nature—featuring hippos, alligators, horses, and other wild forms. His creations are collected worldwide and have achieved acclaim both in private collections and at international auction houses.

Mark is also proudly dyslexic and dyspraxic. His own journey through education was far from smooth, which fuels his deep commitment to ensuring others don’t face the same barriers. He is a passionate advocate for neurodivergent individuals, bringing a powerful voice to the conversation on inclusion, having served as an ambassador for Dyslexia Scotland for over a decade.

As a major donor and co-founder of the North Bali School of the Arts (NBSA), Mark has played an instrumental role in supporting the mission of the Bali Dyslexia Foundation. His vision, generosity, and lived experience have helped shape a school environment where creativity, difference, and alternative learning styles are not just accepted but celebrated.

Mark’s mission is simple but powerful: to give back, to raise awareness, and to help build a world where dyslexic and dyspraxic learners are empowered to thrive.

Cath Jenkins

Originating from the UK, Cath is a career diplomat. She studied German and Business at Hull University before joining the Foreign Office. She has lived and worked, all over the world – most recently in India, Brussels and Argentina. She is currently taking a sabbatical in Jakarta where she is accompanying her husband, Owen (British Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor Leste) and supporting her family. She is also keen to support the local community in projects where she can make a difference.

Education and in particularly, literacy, is an issue close to her heart. Her last role in London was in the Diplomatic Academy developing regional learning and development programmes. A key issue was ensuring that the programmes were accessible and inclusive. In addition her children have experienced schooling in a variety of environments and she has seen first hand the difference good, inclusive learning can make. She is keen to promote greater understanding of dyslexia as she has family members who are dyslexic and has supported dyslexic colleagues to get the reasonable adjustments they need. Cath is delighted to have been asked to be an Ambassador for the Bali Dyslexia Foundation and looks forward to working closely with them.

Craig Jenkins

Craig Jenkins – Advocate for Inclusion and Equity
Craig Jenkins is a long-time ally of the Bali Dyslexia Foundation, passionately supporting its mission to make inclusive education accessible to all. With a strong background in youth development, social justice, and intercultural engagement, Craig brings both heart and hands-on experience to BDF’s efforts in North Bali.

A fierce advocate for equality, Craig has dedicated his career to empowering marginalised communities, particularly in education and the arts. His commitment to social mobility and inclusive practices has taken him across the globe, working with young people from diverse backgrounds. His involvement with BDF is rooted in a shared belief that every child—regardless of ability—deserves a quality education that celebrates their uniqueness.

Craig regularly contributes to BDF’s international outreach, helping build strategic partnerships and promote awareness of dyslexia and neurodiversity. He plays a key role in guiding new interns and Erasmus+ participants, ensuring they are well-supported and aligned with the foundation’s values.

Craig’s approach is as practical as it is passionate—he is often found facilitating workshops, advising on curriculum inclusion, or simply listening to students’ stories with genuine empathy. As a champion of BDF’s mission, Craig stands as a vital bridge between cultures, helping foster understanding, representation, and meaningful impact for neurodivergent children across Bali and beyond.
