Our Approach

CREATING MEANINGFUL IMPACT

In rural and remote parts of Indonesia, such as North Bali early childhood development services that would possibly identify dyslexia are either absent, inaccessible or unaffordable to most children, meaning they miss out on valuable early learning and development opportunities that their urban counterparts in the south receive.

Our Approach

To be clear-We celebrate the differences in which children think!

Our approach is an evidence-based methodology which derives from IDA [International Dyslexia Association] identifying individuals’ needs, challenges and strengths. We believe our dyslexic students are gifted with a unique way of learning and understanding of the modern world.

Hidden in very remote rural locations of Bali are thousands of dyslexic children who may become the next generation of entrepreneurs and professionals, who could contribute to the growth of their community and country. With our support and intervention programs for both teachers and students, we aim to provide opportunities for dyslexic learners giving them access to quality education without them being marginalized for their learning differences.

Bali Dyslexia Foundation is proud to be Bali’s first free service offering teacher training, student assessment, ongoing student support, Teacher programs that empower teachers by sharing knowledge on ‘Inclusive Learning’, furthermore student scholarships specifically for students with dyslexia.

IMPACT

In just six years, the Bali Dyslexia Foundation has created transformative impact across North Bali, training over 1,987 local teachers in inclusive education across 225 government schools. Through our targeted dyslexia screen-testing initiative, we’ve reached 8,560 children, identifying learning differences early and equipping educators with the tools to respond effectively. Schools that join the BDF program benefit from tailored classroom interventions, and among participating students, we’ve seen literacy levels increase by an average of 45%—a testament to the power of inclusive, multisensory learning in changing lives.
