Strengthening Inclusive Education with BDF
On September 16–17, 2025, Bali Dyslexia Foundation successfully conducted an Early Dyslexia Identification Training attended by 100 participants representing 50 elementary schools in Seririt District, Buleleng Regency. The program was held at the BDF Performing Arts Hall in Kalibukbuk – Lovina, Singaraja, as part of BDF’s commitment to strengthening inclusive education and increasing teachers’ understanding of dyslexia from an early stage. This training served as the initial phase before the next program, namely independent dyslexia screen test training that will later be carried out directly by teachers in their respective schools.
The training aimed to help educators recognize the early signs of dyslexia in children so that identification can be conducted more quickly and accurately. Through early identification skills, teachers are expected to provide learning approaches that better suit students’ needs while preventing delays in intervention that may affect children’s academic development and self-confidence. This initiative is also part of BDF’s broader effort to establish a sustainable support system for schools across Buleleng Regency.
The training materials were delivered directly by BDF founder Dr. Andrea Carrol together with BDF board member I Ketut Trika Adi Ana, who is also a lecturer in English Language Education at Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. Throughout the program, participants received both theoretical and practical sessions on basic dyslexia identification, as well as meals and training certificates in appreciation of their participation in supporting inclusive education in North Bali.
